Dagstuhl Ubicomp - Abstract
Intrabody Communication
Kurt Partridge, University of Washington
Intrabody communication is a way for electronic devices to communicate by
sending low-power electrical signals through the body. We have constructed
prototypes of these transceivers and measured their performance under
various circumstances, including location of coupling on the body, size of
touched transceiver plates, etc. A simple application taxonomy is
presented that distinguishes applications according to data transfer
direction and complexity of information use.
