Abstract
Tool support for managing smart spaces based on the example of augmented toy environments (M)Status: Abgeschlossen
This master thesis will investigate a tool-based approach for the management of smart spaces. The reearch should be demonstrated using the existing Augmented Knight's Castle, which is a pervasive computing playset that enriches the child's pretend play by using background music, sound effects, and verbal commentary of toys that react to the child's play. Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is used to automatically and unobtrusively identify toys in the playset. Mobile devices equipped with RFID readers that implement the touch-me paradigm are introduced into the playset to provoke further interaction and to enhance the play.
The objectives are:
- Improvement in the design and implementation of the Augmented Knight's Castle
- Development of concepts and tools for the management of the Augmented Knight's Castle as a smart space
- Support a user study to evaluate the concepts and tools
