Abstract
Augmented Photo Album (S)Status: Abgeschlossen
The objective of the semester project is to develop an augmented photo album
that makes it possible for the user to get additional information and related
photos while browsing through prints of his or her digital photos. The photo
prints are tagged using Hitachi's RFID µ-chip to identify them and retrieve
the meta-information about the photo, for example, the time, date or location
the photo was taken. This information needs to be associated with the id stored
on the µ-chip at the time the digital photo is printed.
The meta-information about a photo allows the user to browse through his
or her library of digital photos using the date to find photos that were taken
before or after the photo, or using the location to find photos that were
taken on the same place or close to the same place. An innovative user interface
enables the users to perform such a virtual browsing through space or time.
The project should be done in the following major steps:
- Analyze the envisioned Augmented Photo Album application and identify
the use cases and requirements.
- Familiarize yourself with Hitachi's µ-chip technology and the
existing Java API.
- Design and implement the Augmented Photo Album using the Java programming
language.
