Abstract
Mobile Phone Based Remote Control for the Smart Vacuum Cleaner (S)Status: Abgeschlossen
Smart Vacuum Cleaner (SVC) was developed in our student laboratory and is a mobile robot that learns its position from RFID tags and then performs an appropriate action. An example of such actions can be, for instance, "Clean" for dirty place, or "Go Backward" when it approaches the border.
SVC consists of a Lego Mindstorms RCX, a BTnode, and an RFID set. At the present stage, BTnode gets its initialization commands from a PC over Bluetooth, which makes it less independent.
The goal of this work is to develop an application for a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, which would operate as a remote control and as a user interface. Having this control unit is essential for the true independency of the device from the external PC. SMS-driven control via mobile phone or diverse refinements of the positioning system may be as well addressed in this work.
Knowledge of C programming language and experience with Linix are advantageous.
