Abstract
Smart Shopping List Assistant (B)Status: Abgeschlossen
The new generation of wearable computers like smart glasses, and smart watches provide many opportunities for user-centric applications that can promote a more convenient life-style for people.
The goal of this thesis is to apply state-of-the-art computer vision techniques in developing a real-time shopping list assistant. The user types in a shopping list of grocery items before going to the store. While at the store, wearing the smart glasses, the system recognizes the objects in the images taken with the glasses, and reminds the user of items on their shopping list. This way, the user does not have to keep going around the store looking for items he forgot to buy while at the right aisle.
The system should be usable, convenient, and fast to meet real-time expectations of users.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of mobile programming, preferably Android development
- Optional: Background in visual computing, knowledge of OpenCV
