Abstract
Understanding the Impact of Cross Technology Interference on Low-power Wireless Networks (B)Status: Abgeschlossen
Objectives:
The goal of this thesis is to build an experimental setup that allows us to study
the impact of high and low-power interference on low-power wireless networks.
Our target setup, would allow us to study the impact of various types of interferences caused by different radio technologies on low-power
wireless links as well the data transmitted over these links.
Requirements:
This project requires interest in embedded systems and wireless communication
systems. The student is expected to work with Tmote Sky nodes and extend the
CC2420 radio driver in the Contiki OS for embedded devices. Therefore, he/she
should have some basic experience in C/C++ programming and be interested
in working with new tools. Also, background in communication and wireless
sensor network is helpful but not mandatory. We expect students to be highly
motivated to work on this topic and to cooperate with their supervisors regularly
to discuss current progress and next steps.
What we offer:
This topic will give you the opportunity to learn and practice wide range of research tools in systems and wirless comunication research. To speed-up your learning curve we will support you with tutorials and how-tos. We offer you a great work atmosphere, which is both casual and challenging, motivated advisors, and a good coffee machine ;)
