Experiences from the Design of a Ubiquitous Computing System for the Blind

Abstract ======== 

This paper presents the user interface experiences we had while developing an 
assistive system for the blind and visually impaired based on ubiquitous 
computing technology, the Chatty Environment. After introducing the system, it 
describes several issues encountered during user interface design and the 
chosen solutions. It then shortly presents the results of a conducted user 
survey.
