Supervisor: Matthias Kovatsch
Talk: May 18, 2010
Report due: May 11, 2010 (First version) June 1, 2010 (Camera ready version)
Abstract:
According to the Smart 2020 report, making buildings "smart" through the application of information and communication technologies (ICT) may allow to save a large amount of energy. In the context of this talk, we will outline in which specific sectors ICT can be used to optimize building operation and management. In particular, we will describe in detail a system that uses predictive controllers to guarantee thermal comfort in an office environment while at the same time optimize energy consumption.
